What would all the letters of this font look like?
That’s the question I asked myself when I discovered a poster dating from 1930 containing a font that had never been digitized. The regular, sometimes unpredictable shapes of this font immediately intrigued me.
So I created entirely a font, taking this poster dating from 1930 as a starting point. I carefully observed some key letters like the O, the G, the M and the A, and from there I imagined the rest of the alphabet.

So I created entirely a font, taking this poster dating from 1930 as a starting point. I carefully observed some key letters like the O, the G, the M and the A, and from there I imagined the rest of the alphabet.
This is how the 'Stadtbad' font was created. It only contains uppercase letters in reference to the poster’s original style. My goal was not to faithfully copy the existing font, but to capture its graphic identity and irregularities, in order to give it a new life in the digital world.
